The T/A Challenger Hood

The ONLY EXACT REPRODUCTION in the World

In 1990, ASC&P International copied the T/A Challenger hood exactly as it was made in 1970. Here are a series of pictures of our hood.

T/A Challenger Hood, Front

T/A Challenger Hood Front View shows the hood scoop with the "poured floor" The bottom of the hood scoop was very deep under the lip so the floor of the scoop has been filled to make the floor closer to even with the opening, keeping it smooth.

T/A Challenger Hood, side

The scoop is 100% accurate. Note how smooth the side edges are of the TA Hood. No bulges or bumps like the original! You can also see the parting lines in this picture. Those must be smoothed before painting. We will do it for an additional fee.

T/A Challenger Hood, Rear

The parting lines for the mold can be seen in this picture. In order to build the hood scoop area to be strong enough, the mold must be made in two pieces, like the factory.

Note the hood screens in the back. They are glued in the same way they were installed from the factory. The screens are actually perforated metal, not a welded screen. Braces are installed inside both outer frame rails so the hood cannot bend like it did from the factory.

Note that the frame is laminated in place just like the factory did it. The frame is placed on the hood top, then the frame is covered in fiberglass with some strategic areas left bare.
